This doll , when you turn the key and move the stop-start system, is walking (the 2 legs move) and she says'papa-mama'. As this doll can be sitting, she cannot walk alone, you must help her by holding her by the hands so that she does not fall! ==> you can find all the information about this doll in the refer book of D.About this doll : She stands 24 inches tall (61 cm). This model date circa 1895.
The pressed bisque head is incised A 15 with the red stamp LE PARISIEN, open mouth, blue enamel inset eyes. Very beautiful quality of the bisque and painting. The bisque has no damage : free of hairline or restoration. The mechanism has been revised and works, maybe not perfectly but it works. The body is in good condition with original painting and body finish (just some small chips of painting on the sides of the legs).
As you can read in the Steiner patent, different models of articulations were available. Here, it is a model with straight wrists. The cardboard pate is original. The human hair wig is not old. Antique : 3 undergarments (used condition, not perfect), socks, leather shoes incised' 9 L. An original pair of red earrings will be added.
About this doll (again) : she comes from a attic so she was sleeping since about 100 years. I have replaced the elastics and put some oil in the mechanism. The stop-start lever was missing so it was added (it is just the metal part which block the motor). Note that there is an original flaw in the bisque (minor) : a kind of very fine red line difficult to see but it exist (the doll is born like that). Originally there was maybe a leather pant to protect the mechanism.
