In 1700s France, it was a fashion to have a ladies watch with a portrait of the owner on the back. This helped to discourage theft and was a show piece. This watch is over 200 years old, and I recommend a professional restoration. Other condition: The enamel portrait is faded, worn, and has chips around the edge.
The case was professionally repaired at some point as seen on the inner case photos. The dial has a chip missing at'35'. The hind has some damage and the case lid does not snap shut properly. Please see my other listings.
