Antique Isidor Lot French Ringed Boehm Silver Plated Professional Flute c. Lot on the headjoint, this lovely french vintage flute is a very rare and sought after ringed Boehm model. She was beautifully crafted between 1860 and 1886 (New Langwill Index) by Thomas Isidor Lot. Because he was Louis Lot's nephew, Isidor Lot built his instruments with a high level of craftsmanship. Plays in the high notes with a beautiful and clear sound.Air leaks in the lower notes. Will need new pads and springs. Mechanics shows very little wear and plays fluently. Some plating wear (please see pics). Original case in excellent condition. Obviously, this great flute was played only a few years at the beginning of her life, then stored safely in a dry closet until now. She would certainly benefit from some attention, but in its original condition she delivers in the higher notes a very rich and singing sound in Louis Lot spirit, typical of the French Flute Golden Age. Please admire the perfect oval cut of the embouchure! Ringed keys Boehm cylindrical flutes are very rare. They are the missing link between Boehm wooden conical ringed keys flutes and metal cylindrical open holes flutes. So easy to play, so pure and powerful sound!
Very few remain on the market today : they are cherished by professional musicians and sought after by collectors. Be sure it will be quite impossible to find another like this one and at this price! Embouchure size 10.5 x 12.4 mm. Item is located in France.
